A new chapter for UK road safety

After more than a decade, the UK has a new Road Safety Strategy.

For the many passionate road safety professionals we work with, this has been a long-awaited moment. After years without a national strategy, clear direction, ambition and a framework for action are essential.

The strategy’s commitment to a Safe System approach - recognising that human error is inevitable but death and serious injury are not - strongly reflects the principles at the heart of the Co-Pilot Vision Zero Toolbox and Community.

As the strategy moves into consultation and, in time, delivery, collaboration will be essential. Turning ambition into meaningful change will rely on professionals across the system sharing insight, learning from experience and supporting one another.

The Co-Pilot Vision Zero Toolbox and Community exists to support exactly that - providing a place for professionals to connect, reflect and work through what this strategy means in practice, nationally and locally.

We look forward to working alongside our members over the coming days, weeks and months to connect professionals across the system and support collaboration as the strategy is implemented.
