Speed Impact Banner
Speed is one of the hardest risks to communicate because people think about it in a straight line. This ten-metre banner turns impact speed into something everyone understands: how far you would have to fall.
What it is
At 20mph, being hit by a car is like falling four metres - a first-floor window. At 30mph it is nine metres. At 35mph it is twelve metres, roughly four storeys. The banner shows that escalation at a size that stops people in the street.
It is hard-wearing, fire-retardant air-mesh PVC with reinforced eyelets, for buildings, scaffolding, cherry pickers, fire service ladders, shopping centres and atriums. It invites reflection from a distance and conversation close up, from passers-by, local media and school groups.

Proven to shift understanding
Evaluated by behavioural science expert Dr Jonathan Rolison, the banner improved comprehension of how speed increases impact severity in a non-linear way, was rated more attention-grabbing, clear and persuasive than a control intervention, and prompted stronger emotional reflection without distress or message rejection. It achieved statistically significant comprehension gains and was judged the most appropriate for public display across all conditions tested.
